An Evening with Bahiyyih Nakhjavani and Omid Djalili

Tuesday 16th May, 7pm

Join international bestselling author Bahiyyih Nakhjavani in conversation with author and comedian Omid Djalili for the launch of her new novel Us &Them.

Bahiyyih Nakhjavani, the author of The Saddlebag, Paper, and The Woman Who Read Too Much, returns with her new book Us&Them, a poignant satire told through fragmented lives, that explores the ludicrous and the tragic, the venal and the generous-hearted aspects of Iranian life away from home. Bahiyyiih has described her book as follows:

Us&Them tells the story of an old Iranian woman who finds herself travelling back and forth between her two daughters, one in Paris and the other in LA… [and] although the story reflects the complications of the Persian psyche, it also captures the tensions and conflicts, the tragedies and comedies that any migrant community has to face, anywhere.”

usthemDiscussing her novel as well as current issues related to being a citizen of everywhere and nowhere, Bahiyyih is joined this evening by comedian, actor and producer Omid Djalili.
